The evaluation process at IGTC is two-fold – encompassing theoretical assessment in every subject in each phase at the Training Centre and practical appraisal by the Training Company after every three-month stint.
The evaluation process is multidimensional and on-going throughout the programme.
Examinations may be written, oral, case studies, project assessments – or a combination of all these, and the phase-end evaluations are deemed as final.
On successful completion of the flagship 18-month programme, the IGTC students obtain the "Post Graduate Programme in Business Administration" certified by the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce.
Our PGPBA programme is anchored in the fundamentals of a general management curriculum that is structured to take students through the complete spectrum of business education.
German Language - Level A1
In close cooperation with each collaborating company, IGTC facilitates two stints (in total six months) of practical training. Training is customized according to the company’s post-training absorption requirements in various functional areas - Marketing, Finance and Controlling, Purchase, Logistics and Supply Chain, Production, Planning, Human Resources, Strategy, Corporate Communication - to name a few. This enables the company to critically examine and judge the student's capabilities, potential and suitability for their specific needs before committing employment. They acquire trained human resources, who are in tune with the practical reality of the organization.
Students, in turn, learn to work responsibly on the live projects assigned by the company and gain lateral exposure to diverse functional areas of business management. Under an umbrella of unstinted corporate support and industry mentors, they gain the opportunity to personally develop themselves, apply their classroom learning to industry projects and become practical solution providers in the corporate arena.
Accounting and Finance
Applicants are evaluated on the basis of the above parameters and are shortlisted for the Personal Interview round with the partnering organization.

The PGPBA at IGTC is a unique business administration programme that facilitates a close interlocking of academic course work and on-the-job training into one learning system. The model functions in close collaboration with IGCC member companies.
The greatest advantage of the IGTC programme is its ability to give a prospective student an exposure to the real corporate world through the stints of hands-on practical training. It focuses on developing managerial skills and intends to instil exceptionally high levels of applied knowledge in students, which is useful to them as practising professionals.
On the pure academic front, the programmes strength lies in its general management curriculum and the quality of academic faculty drawn from some of the best business schools in the vicinity as well as from industry. Given the small batch size, there is a significant amount of personalized attention and emphasis on soft skills, which fosters the right attitude, knowledge, and team spirit, along with interpersonal and communication skills to meet the needs of today's dynamic global business scenario. The inclusion of German language as a part of the curriculum makes the students desirable for several organizations engaging in business with Germany and Europe.

The course is split into 4 theoretical phases, wherein the trainees study a general management curriculum, encompassing the complete spectrum of business education marketing, finance, operations, HR, IT and strategy. This theoretical learning is interspersed with on-the-job practical training in an assigned collaborating company, wherein the trainees work on live, closely monitored and stringently evaluated projects to apply and assimilate their knowledge. The training stints further teach the trainees to appreciate the variety of social relationships that exist in organisations and to cope with the demands of corporate lives. During the time spent in working with the assigned training company and being mentored by their business managers, the trainees develop their personal skill-set as well as gain an induction to the companys structure, which in many cases facilitates final recruitment.

A cumulative strength of 160 trainees per batch is admitted across three centres; 100 in Mumbai, 30 each in Chennai and Bangalore.
Admission to the IGTC PGPBA is a two-stage process.
IGTC is the only model wherein the corporates are both, a destination for the students and a full partner in their education. They are involved at every stage of the programme - in the selection process, curriculum design and development, practical training and mentoring, and final recruitment.
On an average, around 30 - 35 companies participate in the programme in Mumbai, while approximately 15 - 20 companies participate in Chennai and Bangalore. There are always sufficient organisations to give the students on-the-job, practical training.
A student is allocated to their training company depending upon his/her career interests, requirements of the companies in terms of graduation qualification, and prior work experience (if any). The IGTC administration facilitates this entire process and strives to get a suitable match between the participating companies and the applicants.
The placement process is initiated by the training companies being given the first preference to recruit their respective trainees. The company assesses the trainees overall work performance through the two stints of practical training, his or her career interests and job profiles available within the organization to find a suitable employment opportunity. In many cases, this proves to be a win-win for both, as the company gains a hands-on employee already well-oriented to the organization, while the student gains a stable career. In cases, wherein the training process does not culminate into a meaningful placement, the students are assisted with the process of applying for recruitment to various other organisations within the vast Indo-German Chamber of Commerce network.
The IGTC administration plays an important role of a facilitator with the industry, not only post the programme but throughout the programme, right from the time of admission. At every step, they ensure that the students are connected with the right industry, undergo the correct training and are readily employable at the end of the programme. Having made a strong beginning with sound multinational organizations, IGTC alumni have progressed to achieve significant roles and responsibilities in various sectors of the industry, including manufacturing, consulting, financial services, retail, and consumer products.
Every year, the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce awards the two Best Performing Student of the Indo-German Training Centres with the Dr. Günter Kruger Award for Excellence. This award sponsors the students return airfare to Germany with an objective to give him/her an opportunity to further learn the German language. If possible, IGTC organises a further practical training stint at the German operations of the students training company.
Due to the prestige of associating with the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, IGTC has been able to attract the best of management faculty. Our faculty are not only academicians, but also industry experts who collaborate and consult with organizations, serve on corporate boards and successfully run their own companies. The Training Centres (Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore) are fully air-conditioned, wi-fi enabled, modern training facilities. Compact classrooms, equipped with audio visual aids provide the right ambience for the faculty and the students to nurture their teaching-learning process. A well-equipped in-house library, along with memberships to the British Council Library in Chennai and Bangalore and Indian Merchants' Chamber Library in Mumbai provide the necessary knowledge resources.
The programme is a non-residential programme. However, it is intensive and demands up to almost 12 - 14 hours daily during the theoretical and practical training phases.
We dont provide any hostel facilities but most of our outstation students have been able to get accommodation in youth hostels or as paying guests in the city. References can be provided by current students.
Every student is expected to carry his/ her own laptop throughout the programme, for effective learning during theoretical phases as well as practical training phases.
No, IGTC does not have any management quota.
Our office timings are 9.30am to 5.30pm from Monday to Friday.
